Specialty Workshops
Our Specialty Workshop Series is geared towards providing training in special topics relevant to stage performers within the realm of performed violence. Branching outside of our standard curricula, these workshops will feature acting technique, historical martial arts, alternate approaches to stage combat, and more. Our goal is to host one workshop per month throughout the year, so stay tuned for future workshop announcements.

Fighting For Film
Instructor: Mike Yahn
Develop the foundations of combat performance for camera in this 2-hour workshop. Learn the fundamentals of camera awareness, timing, and physical commitment that will help you deliver dynamic action safely and repeatably.

Mike Yahn currently works professionally as both a SAG-AFTRA stunt coordinator and performer. He was instrumental in the creation and performance of the Daredevil Season 3 prison fight: a 15 minute long fight shot in one uninterrupted sequence. Current stunt work includes Sinners, Renfield, The Purge, Doom Patrol, Avengers: Endgame, The Walking Dead, Logan, The Magnificent Seven, The Hunger Games, and Sherlock Holmes amongst many others.
His fight choreography has been seen at Second Stage Theatre, Atlantic Theatre, Playwrights Horizons Theatre, Theater for a New Audience, the New York Film Academy, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York University, NYC Fringe Festival, the New England Shakespeare Festival, and various commercials. He has worked as Fight Master J. David Brimmer’s assistant both on and off Broadway in such productions as Spring Awakening the Musical, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Bug, and Speed the Plow. He is also a national instructor of Wing Tsun (Wing Chun) kung fu under the City WingTsun banner, traveling from Hong Kong to Budapest studying the art. For more info visit: Havestuntswilltravel.com

Head on over to our Registration page to get started. Select Specialty Workshops. There you can pick a workshop, enter your contact information, and pay your workshop tuition.

Cancellation Policy: due to class sizes being limited, barring special circumstances, any cancellations occurring later than 24 hours before the start of a Specialty Workshop will be responsible for the full cost of the workshop.
